Blond - The Lilac Years (1969)

Once again by request. Blond were from Gothenborg/Sweden and evolved out of the Tages. Their one and only album is a hotchpotch of pop-psych and late sixties rock. Not the best album in the world but quite appealing. The reissue came out in 2003 (Universal 018335-2). There are also three videos added on the CD showing them performing "The Weight", "My Days Are Numbered" and "Caroline". The sound and picture quality is excellent and might interest you too.

'Sun In Her Hand' may be one of the best pop songs ever written. A little known pysch-pop gem.

Not the best album in the world???? It's ONE of the best albums in the world. I'd certainly rate it one of the top ten albums of the 60s. The songs are very good, the performances and production outstanding.

Also, for those who notice such details, it features the best bass guitar sound on any record made before about 1971 and the drum kit also sounds pretty damn good too!

Thanks very much for posting this. I was amazed and pleased to find this here. I met Tages in 1966 and was friends with Tommy for a while -- all before Blond of course. I have the 1994 EMI Svenska CD set "Tages: This one's for you!", their complete recordings, in case that would be useful to be posted for anyone.

I've been a prog fan since the 60's and I never heard of this group.

An excellent effort with some brilliant singing and production values.

Thanks
